What's the challenge?
Blackbeard is the most infamous pirate from the Golden Age of Piracy! His prized vessel, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, ran aground a sand bar near Beaufort, North Carolina and had to be abandoned. Blackbeard marooned some pirates and left with a hand-picked crew and most of the valuable plunder. He was killed only six months later. So where is his treasure now?
During a beach vacation near Beaufort, you stumble across a worn, wooden plank and some seashells with pirate markings on them near the entrance to an old, unstable cave. The tide comes in and will flood the crumbling cave in an hour. Can you find Blackbeard’s treasure before the ocean forever claims the golden secrets of the fearsome pirate?

The transitions between the clues are not exciting nor creative. Every step has a 3-6 digit answer, and you need a person to check if the answer is correct, and then hand off the next envelope with puzzle. This get's boring, and takes away a lot of the fun of the game.

This was the first time I tried a DIY escape room, and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into it. The group of 12-year-olds that used it at my daughter's birthday party had fun.
